Monday, Again?
Hello bloggers. I hope you all had a great weekend. I had my dentist appointment on Friday so, I slept most of the weekend.(and ate ice cream) I had 4 new crowns done! I highly recommend sedation dentistry for everyone.
This morning we talked to Johnny's mom-the Swami Mommy. She chose the Baltimore Ravens for tonight's MNF winner. She is 2-0 so far. Listen every Monday morning at about 8:40 for B's mom. She's so much fun.
Maria was very happy this morning because her Redskins beat the Cowboys. We let her have her moment. ;)
Have a great Monday.

Assistant Fire Chief Frank Roma stopped by to tell us about the 9/11 event tomorrow in McKinney. Here is a copy of the press release for details.
The McKinney Fire and Police Departments invite the public to a ceremony on Sept. 11 to remember lives lost in the attacks in 2001. At the 10:30 a.m. ceremony at the Public Safety building, 2200 Taylor-Burk Drive in McKinney, the public safety officials will host former Pentagon employee Capt. Bill Toti, who was present when the building was attacked.
"All McKinney residents are encouraged to join us in remembering those who died in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001," said Assistant Fire Chief Frank Roma. "We are honored to host Capt. Toti, who has a very interesting story to share with his fellow McKinney residents."
Officials are planning for around 400 guests to attend the seventh annual event. The McKinney Pipes and Drums and the Police and Fire Honor Guard will perform at the event.
After the ceremony, lunch will be provided to all attendees. Lunch is sponsored by Bob and Sheila Johnson of Johnson Insurance and Financial in McKinney. Participating restaurants include Applebee's, Ben & Jerry's, Brothers Pizza, Dodie's Seafood, Chili's, La Madeleine, Market Street, McDonalds, Ralph and Kacoo's, Saltgrass Steak House, Starbucks, Which Wich and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Musical Chairs
Hey gang. It's Carrie.
I'm filling in for Maria Miller today. If I would have remembered that earlier, I could have slept in! I totally forgot and showed up at work at 4:30am! Darn it. After Johnny made fun of me, I went back to sleep for a few hours though.
It was fun hosting the retro Mid-Day Cafe today. I love the 80's.
Did you happen to watch the Stand Up to Cancer special on Friday night? Stars like Lance Armstrong, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge and more helped raise $100 million for Cancer Research!! You can still donate here.
Don't forget that the John Tesh concert is this Thursday night. You can still buy your tickets at www.975klak.com
Tomorrow morning Olympic Gold Medalist Carly Patterson is going to stop by the studio to talk to B and Carrie! I'm very excited. Be listening around 7:20 for Carly.
Have a great day.

Hey, It isn't Monday!
Hello there. I think I really enjoy have Mondays off. I hope you all had a nice Labor Day weekend.
Thanks to all of you that came out to see us this weekend. Johnny and I were tailgating at the McKinney North vs. McKinney Boyd game on Friday.
Scott K was at Bob Tomes on Saturday. And I was at Tucker Hill's Arts on the Lawn Sunday. It was great to see our listeners up close and personal.
I wanted to put this letter from the Red Cross on the blog. They are so busy right now with helping the hurricane evacuees. Please help out if you can.
*In the past four days, the American Red Cross has spent $12 million moving supplies and volunteers to the Gulf Coast. Across the region, the American Red Cross is currently operating 490 shelters with upwards of 3,100 Red Cross volunteers meeting the needs of more than 165,000 evacuees from four states.
During this emergency evacuation phase, we are making sure that families have a safe shelter, a place to sleep, nutritious meals and comfort items. Additionally, we have disaster Mental Health volunteers on hand who can help evacuees deal with the emotional stresses caused by Hurricane Gustav.
I just stopped by a mass care orientation session. About 75 volunteers are right now getting their final instructions before heading out to relieve the current shift.
Without a doubt, at this point our greatest need is funding to carry on the relief effort into the week. As you know, our funding comes entirely through charitable giving—people and companies—who share in our mission to assist families in times of disaster.
While our local volunteers and staff are working in concert with the national Red Cross in responding to Hurricane Gustav, we continue to serve our community needs including the 3 or 4 house or apartment fires that will occur today, and tomorrow, and every day. In addition, we continue to build our chapter’s capacity to manage a local major catastrophe like the one impacting New Orleans right now.
To assist us in our efforts, I ask that you consider making a donation of $100 or more to the American Red Cross. Your support ensures that the Red Cross can respond immediately to meet the needs of people affected by Hurricane Gustav and so many other disasters.
Please know that we can use financial contributions right now to effectively build on our current relief efforts. Please go to www.redcrossdallas.org to contribute. Also, that is the best place for the latest information on Hurricane Gustav, and the preparations underway for possible Hurricane Hanna.

Have a great day and check out the show again tomorrow morning!
Thanks. Carrie
