Hey there. It's Carrie. B was all alone on the show this morning. I am doing Middays for Laura. So, how did B do this morning? I didn't listen because I was SOUND ASLEEP. It was nice to sleep in. My alarm normally goes off at 3:30 each day.
We have a busy weekend. Tonight join B at Dr. Pepper Park in Frisco for KLAK night from 5-7pm. The Roughriders are hosting the Arkansas Travelers.
Tomorrow is the Summer Concert Series. It is The Orchestra at Third Monday Trade Days. Check the main page at www.975klak.com for those details. Scott K and I will both be there. Johnny B will be in Celina for their fireworks event tomorrow night.
Johnny and I will be back on the air Monday morning at 5:30!

Does Anyone Actually Watch This Show?

Hey campers. If you listen to the show you know that I love t.v. Like really love it. Like, I would marry it if I could. So, today when I read that ABC is renewing "According to Jim" for its 7th season, I was sad. ABC will cancel Alias, My So Called Life, Sports Night, and The Nine but, they RENEW JIM????
Oh, sorry. B likes that show.
I learned some new baseball terms today. A line drive is also called a "frozen rope." and a lazy pop fly is called a "can of corn." Who knew? Remember tomorrow night is KLAK night at Dr. Pepper Park with the Frisco Roughriders. Hope to see you at the game.
B will be doing our show alone tomorrow morning. Laura is off so, I will do her show LIVE FROM DOWNTOWN MCKINNEY from 9am-2pm tomorrow. Please stop by and say hello. I will be in front of Sharla's. (103 E. Virginia) I will have prizes from downtown merchants to give away.
I hope B can survive without me for a morning.
Bye for now. Carrie

Singing in the Rain

You know that old saying. "another day another thunderstorm." well, maybe that isn't quite how it goes.
Today B and I came up with a list of songs with RAIN in the title. We went back and forth until we couldn't think up anymore. Thanks to everyone who also called in to add to the list. My favorite is Oran Juice Jones with "The Rain." "Purple Rain" and "I Love a Rainy Night" are also good ones. What would be on your list?
We gave away more Frisco Roughriders Tickets today. We played "Baseball Player or Not?" We listed 5 names and you had to say if they were players or not.
Antonio Banderas
Jason Giambi
Carlos Mencia
Roger Clemens
Adam Vinatieri
We will have more tickets tomorrow morning between 8 and 9:00 a.m.
Tomorrow we will also talk about the excuses that you always use to get out of going to things. I have one that works every time.
See ya in the morning. Carrie

B Loves to get text messages

Hey there gang.
This morning we talked about B's latest date. During the date many of his friends thought it would be funny to send him text messages. Since B is the boss around here (I know! What were we thinking?) he has to keep his phone on in case of emergencies. Luckily, his date had a good sense of humor and they went out again. Also lucky for B, MY cell phone was made in 1885 and cannot send text messages!
We played Know Your Morning Show and gave away tickets to the Frisco Roughriders. It is KLAK night this Friday night at Dr. Pepper Park. We have more tickets to give away all week. This game proves that you should actually listen when we start talking about ourselves.
Maria got in her first slam on me this morning. We always tease B, but, today I got burned! She is still making fun of the fact that my first CD was Andrew Ridgeley's. yeah, the other guy from WHAM)
Also, a huge thanks to everyone who donated/volunteered/helped out yesterday in Sherman at the Salvation Army. We raised over $6,000 in cash and received so many donations. We were so proud of our listeners. The victims of the recent floods are going to get the help they need because of you.
Another fun day tomorrow. We will tell you about the Petsof the Week that I got to choose at the SPCA in McKinney. We will have Kid's Joke Trivia and much more.
Have a good day.

Carrie's Confession

Okay. You all know now. I am not the "cool radio chick" with good taste in music. I am a dork. We found out this morning that the very first CD that I ever bought was Andrew Ridgeley's Solo CD. Yes, the OTHER GUY in Wham. I am pretty sure that B and Maria will never let me live this down. If it helps my street cred' any... the 2nd CD I bought was from Aerosmith!
We also asked you "If you could have lunch with anyone at all...dead or alive....who would it be. B wants to have BBQ with Lee Harvey Oswald, Maria is doing lunch with Jimi Hendrix and I just want to chat with Julia Roberts for an hour.
Please join us today in Sherman at the Salvation Army thift shop on Texoma Parkway. We are collecting donations for the folks up there who were affected by all the flooding. Noon-6pm.
Have a great day. See ya early tomorrow morning!

Hey, did you hear that it is Friday?

Wow. We have never been more happy to see Friday!
Today is Take Your Dog to Work Day. I am sure my dogs would have barked every time we turned on the microphones so, I had to leave them at home. We talked about the most popular dog names in the country. MAX was the winner. Mine are named Jack and Alli. Jack is in the top 10.
B will be all over Collin County this weekend. He will be at Market Street Saturday from 10-Noon. Then in Allen at the Harley Davidson shop Saturday from 1-3 for Hogs and Dogs. Stop by and say hello if you get a chance.
We will be back Monday Morning! See ya then.

MMMMM.... Meatloaf

We found a great website that will sum up your marriage for you! It will tell you the song that was number one the day you got married. For B, it was Dream Lover by Mariah Carey... he says that describes him. The number one album on that date was Bat Out of Hell II... he says that decribes his ex. (ouch). Maria's perfect marriage is summed up by "I Swear" by All 4 One. go to www.thisdayinmusic.com to find out yours.
I spent some time at the McKinney SPCA yesterday. What a great facility. I almost adopted about 10 cats and dogs! They let me choose next weeks pets of the week too. I spent some time with a great puppy named Goofy. He loves to give kisses. You can check out their website at www.spca.org Please make a donation today or stop by and become a volunteer. Thanks so much to Jaklin and Alicia for the tour.
I will be at Culver's today from 11a-1pm with Free Custard for the First Day of Summer. Please stop by. Get there before B or you won't get any!
(1301 S. Central Expressway)
See ya tomorrow...

Slow Dancin' Swaying to the Music
Hello there! So, this morning we talked about our Slow Dance Song memories. B's first slow dance was in 6th grade with Diana Kierstead. She was taller than B and he was so happy to be dancing with a girl that he can't remember the song that was playing. Mine was Lady in Red by Chris Deburgh. Rolling Stone Magazine has posted their list of Best Slow Dance Songs Ever. Aerosmith's "I don't wanna miss a thing" is number one. What is yours.
I am taking a tour of the SPCA in McKinney this afternoon. My goal is to not adopt any more pets! I will fill you in tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow is the first day of summer and I will be celebrating with Culver's from 11-1pm. More details during the show.

Hey Bud, Let's Party

Happy Tuesday. So, this morning I gave B a hard time about his personal ad again. This time we tried to help him pick a good headline.
Here are some we found online:
"I'm the best singer in my car"
"Just like a new job, I offer excellent benefits"
"I bathe everyday"
"You say FREAK like it's a bad thing"
Here are some that B wants to use:
"All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz and I'm fine"
"If I am here and you are here isn't this OUR TIME?"
ah, Mr. Hand would be so proud.
Tomorrow we will talk about the Best Slow Dance Songs of All Time.
We also have more Cyndi Lauper tickets to give away.
See you then. Carrie

The Rain took over our show today
Hey campers... well, because of all the severe weather this morning... we didn't get to do much except report on the weather.
Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.
We will check in with B to see how his online dating experience is progressing. Remember to check out his profile at yahoo personals.
Stay dry and have a good Monday.

Don't Stop Believin'

Hey campers. Carrie here. Because of some major computer problems B. was at the station till almost MIDNIGHT... then had to be at work by 4:30 this morning. I don't know how he did it.
We are looking for B's new love online! After his friends MADE him post a personal ad on Yahoo this week. He got 21 hits yesterday. I have been trying to help him find the perfect mate and you can help too. Send us an email johnnyb@975klak.com or carrie@975klak.com or you can call us in the morning.
1-800-766-KLAK.
Tomorrow we are going to talk about some First Date Killers. No, not killers like Murderers! More like, if you show up for the date and the guy brings his mother.

Did Joanie really love Chachi?

Hey there. Carrie here. Another fun show this morning. B and I were both out of sync. He couldn't speak or spell and I couldn't type. I think there was a disturbance in the air. Or we just need more sleep.
We did manage to come up with our Top 5 Things that are more important than Paris Hilton list. Scrubbing the toilets seemed to be very popular.
We found out that Scott Baio is getting a reality show on VH1 next month. Can Ralph Macchio be very far behind. wax on. wax off.
Today marks my first week as a McKinney resident. It was one week ago today that the movers brought all my stuff from Tucson. I only have 4 unpacked boxes left to do. woohoo.
We are super busy this weekend. Please come out and see us. Saturday night is the Blood Sweat and Tears show at Myers Park. Sunday is KLAK Day at Hawaiian Falls. I would love to meet you. And Johnny said he will be on his best behavior.

Paris is Free!?

WHAT?! During the morning show we found out that Paris Hilton was released from jail after serving only 3 of her 23 days. According to the LA County Sheriff's office, she was released "due to medical reasons." She will now wear a monitored ankle bracelet and be confined to her Hollywood home for 40 days. I wish I was confined to her Hollywood Home. It would be like a vacation for me. I'm sure there is a movie theater, maids, swimming pool, and personal chef there. I would wear any ankle bracelet you wanted me to wear!
Also this morning we asked you if you get married, do you keep separate checking accounts? Because B is divorced, he said he'd be afraid to do a joint account ever again. Many people agreed with him. I believe that once you are married, it is a team effort... and what is mine is yours. We all agreed that communication is the most important part of dealing with the money issues in a relationship.
We also decided that our traffic reporter Maria Miller has the BEST HUSBAND in the world... he took her shoe shopping!
See ya tomorrow.

Busy Wednesday
Wow. We sure had a lot of stuff to do today during the show.
We gave away tickets to the Blood Sweat and Tears show featuring Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night on Saturday night at Myers Park and Events Center. We even got to chat with Chuck Negron. He was hilarious and promises a great show.
We asked you what you believed in... Johnny believes in Aliens and the Loch Ness Monster.
A Frisco Boy Scout troop had their camping equipment stolen! Who would do such a thing?!
Maria and I made fun of B for being old again today.
And we found out the answer to the age old question... What time is it when an elephant sits on a fence? Time to get a new fence!
Join us tomorrow morning 5:30-9:00.
